Group: Sympathomimetics in glaucoma therapy.
Indications: Brimonidine ABR eye drops are used to reduce intraocular pressure. It can be used either alone when beta-blocker-containing eye drops are contraindicated or with other eye drops when only one drug is not sufficient to lower the increased pressure in the eye, to treat open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (high intraocular pressure).
The active substance of Brimonidine ABR is brimonidine tartrate, which works by reducing the pressure within the eyeball.
Prescription: Prescription only medicine
1 ml of solution contains 2 mg of brimonidine tartrate, equivalent to 1.3 mg of brimonidine.
